We love afternoon tea but we don’t always have the time for afternoon tea which makes us sad.
Thankfully, our favourite Fortnum & Mason Dubai, located in the heart of Downtown Dubai has launched an afternoon tea on the go in the form of the famous ‘Hamperling’. This makes us very happy indeed.
The ‘Hamperling’ is a quirky take on Fortnum’s traditional hampers loved by just about everybody and makes a fantastic treat for those with busy lives, it’s basically an uber stylish portable picnic and what’s not to love about that?
The concept is based around Fortnum & Mason’s renowned afternoon tea that has been described as Britain’s best (Brit’s amongst you will appreciate this is quite the statement) and the ‘Hamperling’ is a bijou take on this all packed in a portable, recyclable hamper in Fortnum’s signature eau de nil.
Two different ‘Hamperlings’ are available, each one cleverly unfolds easily to reveal beautiful printed placements and cutlery. Great for an office break, beach days or simply a traditional picnic in one of Dubai’s picturesque parks with friends or family.

Perfect for those that prefer not to share (me) and with time to indulge (I wish it was me). This single afternoon tea contains one fresh scone, a jar of strawberry jam, a portion of clotted cream and a round of delicious finger sandwiches filled with favourites such as cucumber, Fortnum’s smoked salmon or delicious rare roast beef. Of course, that very important cup of Fortnum’s tea or coffee is also included.

If you’re better at sharing and fancy some casual dining a deux then the Hamperling for two is just perfect. Including two rounds of afternoon tea sandwiches filled with cool cucumber and cream cheese or smoked salmon, plus two fresh scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam. Three delicious pastries washed down with Fortnum’s famed tea or coffee top this off rather nicely.
