We love when we stumble across a restaurant that’s every bit as beautiful as the food it serves up and even better when we’re pretty sure that not that many people know about it.
Amaseena in the stunning Ritz-Carlton, Dubai is one of those places. Open only when the weather is cool enough to permit al fresco dining and tucked away in the manicured gardens of this notable hotel, Amaseena is more than a pleasant surprise.
It’s concept revolves around a traditional Arabic buffet although this description does not quite do it justice. Recently reopened, this vast outdoor eatery offers a little piece of tradition right in the heart of the modernity of JBR. With live cooking stations, a traditional underground Mandi oven, Arabic themed entertainment and some of the most aromatic and flavoursome dishes we’ve tasted in the city, Amaseena is doing just about everything right.
Under the faint twinkle of fairy lights you’re seated in a romantic bedouin tent with low tables and plush upholstered furnishings. Those that love a buffet will be more than pleased to note that Amaseena features a wide array of hot and cold dishes to choose from, all paying homage to traditional Arabic cuisine. Indulge in grilled lobster, spiced prawns, grilled lamb chops and succulent chicken and not to mention a hearty mixed grill delivered to your table, all accompanied by a selection of warm Arabic breads, this is a place where it’s best to arrive hungry.
There are more than 20 flavours of shisha avilable here and a must-try is one of the exclusive shisha sharing cocktails. Everything at Amaseena is done with passion. If you’re unsure as to any of the dishes, the chefs are more than happy to personally walk you around the buffet, explaining in detail each individual dish, it’s origins and their specially curated take on it.
It’s a place where time will fly agaisnt the backdrop of rhythmic Arabic beats and traditional belly dancing and you’ll discover some of the very best food you’ll have in Dubai. If only it was Winter all year round.
