Business Lunch at Toko

Finding a decent spot for a quick business lunch that impresses without being overbearing is sometimes a challenge, Toko’s new work lunch menu is an ideal spot to grab a bite whilst signing on the dotted line.

Situated in Vida Downtown, Toko is an intimate eatery with a lounge and expansive terrace for when the temperature cools, it is discreet and since its inception last year has been turning heads for all the right reasons.

The contemporary Japanese ‘izakaya’ Joto set lunchtime menu is hassle free Japanese dining at its best, allowing you be in and out within the hour should you so wish.

The decor is impressive and sleek, something we have come to expect from Asian restaurants in Dubai, it’s dramatic open-plan kitchen is an interesting focal point and the neutral colour palette is warm and not at all overbearing, in fact at Toko, it’s all very relaxed. The exposed timber adds rustic charm to an otherwise streamlined decor.

The Joto set menu is available each day from midday until 3:30pm and costs a reasonable AED 125 per person for a restaurant in this prime part of town.

If you’re still hungry after all this fabulous fare there is also an A la carte desert menu which you can add to the set menu for an additional AED 35.

Overall, it’s a fun, funky place to hold a meeting during the day, visit in the evening and the atmosphere changes becoming edgier, sophisticated and full of animated chatter and larger groups. For a quick, affordable bite in a place that is still very ‘now’ on the Dubai dining scene, you can’t go wrong.
