London’s infamous club Toy Room is set to open in Dubai at the beginning of April at the Al Murooj Rotana in Downtown Dubai.
Toy Room is yet another new nightclub opening in the region that has been seeing a surge in established internatonal brands such as Pacha Ibiza and Movida taking up residence in the UAE, capitalising on the booming nightlife industry here.
Toy Room, brainchild of nightlife entrepeneur Luca Maggoria, is a London celebrity favourite attrating the likes of Nicole Scherzinger and Lindsay Lohan and is frequently in the papers being cited as the place to be for those seeking an exclusive party.
Toy Room DXB says that it will be ‘bringing a whole new meaning to playtime and naughtiness’ to the region. ‘Frank the Bear’ the club’s mascot, a giant sunglass wearing teddy will no doubt be leading the debauchery.
At the recent London opening, organisers revealed that they “are not really driven by DJs but more by the experience of a small intimate club where everybody comes to have fun”. Quite a change for Dubai then, whose recent nightclub openings have been dominated by vast venues and outdoor terraces with plenty of live entertainment. Toy Room DXB will host the freshest hip hop sounds with a twist of rock, it doesn’t want to take itself too seriously. Sounds like a breath of playful fresh air for the Dubai nightlife scene.
