Souk Madinat Jumeirah, one of Dubai’s most iconic destinations, is offering visitors a range of shopping and dining experiences to celebrate the 49th UAE National Day.
From spices and slippers to locally made jewellery, the Arabian bazaar offers guests a glimpse of the past with a modern twist, through its selection of boutique brands, gift shops, luxury fashion and jewellery stores.
Meander through Souk Madinat Jumeirah’s weaving walkways, lined with shopping opportunity. Indulge in decorative henna, breathe in delicate aromas from the Spice Market and enjoy browsing local gifts and handicrafts. Those looking for unique gifting options can head to Nomadic Camel which specialises in camel products including shawls, leather, skin care, dates and chocolates. Further reflecting the UAE’s culture is Al Jaber Gallery, one of the largest gifting and souvenir retailers in the UAE, with traditional gifts, antiques, ornaments, souvenirs, clothing, jewellery and more.
Souk Madinat Jumeirah is now home to the brand-new Theatre of Digital Art (ToDA), which allows visitors to walk around some of the most famous paintings in the world. The new gallery uses a combination of light technology, virtual reality and an incredible soundtrack to put visitors in the most transcendent mood. The multimedia show has a duration of 45 minutes, and features masterpieces by world art icons. ToDA also has an interactive exhibit for kids in a specially designed art space featuring multi-dimensional spaces with secret passages and portals to magical worlds.
For visitors who have worked up an appetite exploring the Souk, there are more than 25 local and international venues that make up Souk Madinat Jumeirah’s restaurant portfolio, offering diners a cuisine to suit all tastes and budgets, and numerous dining spots that take advantage of the stunning views of the Burj Al Arab or the Souk’s waterways.
Flagship Indian restaurant Ushna will launch a December 2 Special Kebabs Platter which includes a selection of options, served with chef’s special curry and naan. Anar, the popular Iranian venue, will offer a special SpecialMix Grill, which is served with salad and rice. Dubai’s most authentic and adored Italian eatery, Trattoria, is rolling out UAE flag pizzas on 2 December. The themed pizza is served with Tomato sauce, mozzarella, baby spinach, black olives, and candy tomatoes. The Noodle House, Dubai’s home of Asian soul food, is dishing up vegetarian dim sum representing the colours of the UAE flag, served with Szechuan chili sauce.
