It’s hard to imagine any A-Lister without their trademark Hollywood smile, and you should be no different.
To start our journey to pearly white perfection we popped down to Euromed Clinic in Jumeirah to see the notable Dr. Sofia Aravopoulou to get some of her expert advice on brightening up our teeth.
The first thing you’ll notice about Dr. Sofia is her personable approach and very un-dentist like demeanour – that and the fact that she’s a total knockout herself!
A member of the World Federation of Lasers in Dentistry and the International Society of Laser Dentistry amongst others, Dr. Sofia is much more than a pretty face. Fast becoming a name-to-know in the world of dentistry, she recently moved to Dubai from her native Greece where she practices her mission to create beautiful, healthy smiles across the Middle East.
True to her art, Dr. Sofia in infact, one of the only dentists in Dubai to hold a Master of Science in Lasers in Dentistry which allows her to use ground-breaking laser technology offering her patients less invasive treatments with outstanding long-lasting results. Her dedication to innovation in dentistry leads Dr. Sofia to approach each of her clients as an individual to assess the needs and expectations of each person – for no two mouths are the same, so I am told.
Her friendly and warm personality immediately puts me at ease as we have a look inside my mouth. Being an avid drinker of caffeine my primary concern was the slight yellowing of my teeth and for both aesthetic and hygiene reasons I was keen to have these stains expertly removed as quickly as possible.
Dr. Sofia possesses a state-of-the-art whitening in-clinic laser treatment, an approach that is much gentler than rival whitening procedures and suited to even the most sensitive of teeth, making that Hollywood smile all the more attainable.
After a quick clean, scale and polish I settled into the chair, movie on the screen above me, as whitening gel was applied to my teeth. The whitening process is done in a series of ten-twenty minute cycles depending on your sensitivity and the results desired.
The entire process is completely painless and my teeth are transformed from slightly murky to sparkly clean in a matter of 45 minutes.
However, the whitening treatment is not the end of the road. It is imperative to keep teeth looking their translucent best that you brush and floss in the right way. Dr. Sofia is on hand to explain the rights and wrongs in the world of brushing your teeth.
