We know and love Mario Testino, the world’s most legendary fashion photographer, for his encapsulations of starlets and supermodels, most notably catapulting Kate Moss into the fame stratosphere and his beautiful images of Princess Diana and now for the first time ever, some of his works will be displayed in the Middle East at an exhibition in Dubai.
In a joint collaboration with Ginza Fashion, Mario Testino OBE will be showing work combining both fashion and art at a pop-up gallery in the heart of Dubai’s trendy Design District, d3.
Probably the most iconic photographer of our time, especially in fashion, he has shot not only some of the world’s most famous supermodels but also for international fashion houses such as Gucci, Burberry and Chanel as well as magazines such as Vogue and GQ.
This exciting exhibition will open on Thursday 25th February and run until Friday, April 15th and will include exclusive work that will be shown publicly for the first time alongside shots from his acclaimed Peru series, Alta Moda which pays homage to his Peruvian roots.
Having exhibited at some of the most prestigious galleries all over the world including the National Portrait Gallery in London and the Visionaire Gallery in New York, this is quite the scoop for Dubai’s new Design District.
“I am so excited that my work will be exhibited in Dubai for the first time,” says the 61-year old “Looking at this exhibition, I feel Dubai is a perfect place to present it, with its constantly evolving creativity. I am eager to see and experience the impact that Dubai will make on my work.”
