If there is one thing we love more than a shopping mall, it’s a shopping mall extention and the much anticipated new wing at Mall of the Emirates has just opened which changes our weekend plans dramatically!
Mall of the Emirates operated by Majid Al Futtaim, opened its new extension this week which houses even more fantastic stores, dining and leisure options than before creating an entirely new customer service experience. And for AED 1 billion re-development we should hope so!
This new extension creates an entirely new floor for our faved shopping mall, is infact equivalent in size to eight progessional football fields offering space for a total of 40 new retail outlets (hurrah!) and 12 new restaurants and cafes all on the new third floor of the mall.
So what exactly does this exciting new addition to MoE consist of?
For starters, before we even get to the shops and restaurants, let’s talk about VOX cinemas. The new VOX Cinemas is arguably the centrepiece of this new evolution, a 100,000 sqft entertainment destination with a completely revamped 24-screen VOX Cinema which makes it the largest complex in the entire Middle East featuring advanced technologies such as: the first and only IMAX with laser screen in the Middle East, the largest VOX 4DX auditorum; the world’s first of its kind lxuury cinema experience called THEATRE by Rhodes, which combines fine food and film in a collaboration with Michelin Star Chef, Gary Rhodes (we are beyond excitement with this one); and two VOX Kids, colourful cinemas with adjoining party rooms ideal for birthday bashes.
So, let’s talk shops.
If you hadn’t heard that the master of football, David Beckham himself was in town to open the new Adidas store, then quite frankly, where you have been is beyond us! The sports giant is in good fashion company for Australian swimwear brand Seafolly, British contemporary unisex retailer All Saints and yoga brand LULULEMON have all opened up. This isn’t all because later in the year fashion giants such as Abercrombie & Fitch are also set to open .
All this extra shopping is thirsty work and Mall of the Emirates has opened up lots of new restuarnts and cafes for you to rest your weary feet in, 12 to be precise which include the second branch of Eat Greek, the cosy and traditional Mediterranean favourite, Din Tai Fung, Chinese street food at its best, Omnia Baharat courtesy of celebrity chef Silvena Rowe with some delicious offerings and the much anticipated Common Grounds by the team behind Tom & Serg which promises to offer truly great coffee amongst many others.
They had us at coffee.
Further additions to make your shopping life that much more enjoyable include a luxurious new valet parking experience located adjacent to the Fashion Dome and Central Galleria as well as an extra 1,300 shaded parking spaces! A new taxi arrival facility next to Ski Dubai also compliments the mall’s direct link to the Dubai Metro.
We don’t know about you, but we’re already there.
