Not a red carpet in sight goes without an iconic de la Renta gown adorning it.
Oscar de la Renta’s gowns are legendary, being photographed on the world’s most famous bodies including Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchette and Penelope Cruz.
Harvey Nichols Dubai is celebrating Oscar de la Renta’s ‘Legendary Style’ with a showcase entitled the same.
The in-store event runs until May 13th and showcases the fashion icon’s legendary designs.
The event is the first of its kind for Dubai, following other countries such as London for its world-renowned fashion exhibitions and highlights the most memorable red carpet and runway gowns from previous collections alongside a small selection from the current Spring / Summer 2015 collection.
The gowns on display have been worn by some of Hollywood’s elite throughout his career and pay true homage to the beautiful sense of style and love of beauty that Oscar de la Renta possesses.
Oscar de la Renta is a name that needs little introduction. The coveted designed left behind a formidable legacy in his highly successful career that spanned across five decades. His designs transformed red carpets the world over and his evening and bridal collections were worn by the creme of society. His designs are known for their femininity, their elegance and their refined aesthetics and all breathtakingly beautiful. Oscar de la Renta was trained by Cristobal Balenciaga and rose to fame in the 1960s as one of the few couturiers who dressed Jacqueline Kennedy. He won numerous awards in his career which saw him work for Lanvin and Balmain, today in the wake of Oscar’s recent death his fashion house still dresses some of the world’s most beautiful women and continues to go from strength to strength.
